Masonic News

On Wednesday, February 11 some 65 visitors and members attended lodge Polmont and witnessed a fine rendering of the 2nd degree by the Right Worshipful Master Bro Allan Simpson and his team of office bearers. The Right Worshipful Master of the Operative Masons Lodge of Dundee No 47 thanked the lodge for attending at his mother lodge on February 6 to confer the degree of installed master. RWM Ian Taylor Lodge 531 Abercrombie thanked the RWM for the welcome given to all the visitors. The next meeting will be held within Lodge Polmont on Wednesday, February 25 when the business of the evening will be Accounts, Correspondence, and a third degree. All brethren in good standing will be made welcome.

Parish Church

Last Sunday, Rev. Murdo Campbell conducted the 11 a.m. worship assisted by Rachel Meek who gave the children and youth address. This Sunday, the minister will conduct the morning worship at 11 a.m. In the evening the Science and Faith meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Rankine Hall when Rachel Gilmour will talk about the ‘Big Bang’. Tonight (Thursday) the Congregational Prayer Time takes place in the Small Hall at 7.45 p.m. The next Guild meeting is this Monday at 7.30 pm. The evening is a fundraiser for Guild Funds and will be held in the church. Tickets are £5 including refreshments and are available from members of the committee or you can pay at the door. Entertainment is by The Forth Bridges Accordion Band. A warm welcome is extended to everyone to join with us for what we are sure will be a very enjoyable evening. The Deacons’ Court will meet on Tuesday at 7.45 p.m. in the Rankine Hall. There will be the regular prayer time prior to this meeting at 7.15 p.m. in the Vestry. Door duty this Sunday will be by John Anderson, Eric Smith. Alan Oliver, Jason Glass, Tom Grieve and Margo Graham. On crèche duty will be Alison Cassells, Joanne Kilpatrick and Lesley Mann.
