Parish Church

Last Sunday, the worship at the earlier summer start time of 10.30 a.m. was led by the minister, Rev. Murdo Campbell. During the service our prayers and thoughts were with the Barclay Family, in particular daughters Lesley and Louise and the extended family, following the sudden death of Peter, a retired elder, who gave many years of faithful service to the work of the church. This Sunday, Rev. Campbell will lead the worship again at the earlier time of 10.30 a.m. The final service at this earlier time of 10.30 a.m. will be next Sunday, August 127. The last Summer Sunday School for the following age groups, age 3 up to P3 and P4 to P7 will be this Sunday at 10.30a.m. The creche though continues as normal at 10.20 a.m. through to Sunday, August 17. Tonight (Thursday) the Congregational Prayer takes place at 7.45 p.m. in the Small Hall. The Holiday Club 2014 - ‘Fit for the King’ begins this Monday, Agust 11 to Friday, August 15 at 6.15 p.m. in the church and the halls for Primary 1 -7. Pre-registration forms are still available either online at or at the church. In preparation for the Holiday Club there will be a Craft Preparation Night tonight ( Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. in the halls. The final event during this Holiday Club week will be the Holiday Club Family service on Sunday, August 17 at 10.30 a.m. This will be followed by a BBQ in the manse grounds. In the event of inclement weather it will take place in the Halls. Any articles for the next issue of Bright Lights should be submitted by Sunday, August 17, either by email to or left in the box in the church vestibule. Door duty this Sunday will be by Robert Callahan, Andrew Fulton, Graeme Bell, Elwyn Batt, Innes Macleod and Andy Gillespie. The creche will be manned by Alison Cassells, Alistair McDonald and Mary Munro.
