Parish Church

Last Sunday, the minister, Rev. Murdo Campbell, led the worship and Stephen Pearson gave the children’s address at the 10.30am summer service. This Sunday will be the last of the summer services starting at the earlier time of 10.30am. The service will be the Holiday Club Rocky’s Plaice, all age family service. The Holiday Club children should meet in the halls at 10.15am. There will be no summer Sunday school this Sunday. The crèche though will continue this Sunday at 10.20am in the small hall. Following the morning service there will be the Holiday Club BBQ in the manse grounds. If the weather is unfavourable this will take place in the halls. The minimum donation is £1 per child under 12 and £2 for everyone else. The golfers who are attending the outing to Gogarburn Golf Club with our friends at Polmont Church are reminded that all monies etc. should be with Martin Miller by Sunday, August 23. Door duty this Sunday will be by Jim Dick, Jean Cairns, Charles Maden, Bill Cairns, Ian Huntley, Jean Meek and Craig Smith. On crèche duty will be Lorna Duke, Annette Filby and Moira Fyall.

Girls’ Brigade

1st Polmont Girls’ Brigade: The new session of the Girls’ Brigade will recommence in Brightons Parish Church Halls on Wednesday, August 19, enrolment night only, juniors for girls in Primary 4 - 7 at 6.15pm and enrolment night only, brigaders for girls in S1-S6 at 7.30pm and Thursday, August 20, enrolment night only, Explorers for girls in Primary 1-3 at 6.15pm.
