Brexit '˜won't spoil our twinning friendships'
That was a key conclusion reached at a special conference in Falkirk this week for half a dozen different twinning groups from the wider area.
Hosted by the Odenwald Association - whose links with the German region stretch back over around 40 years - the meeting in Falkirk’s municipal buildings was used to discuss challenges and develop strategies to improve recruitment, funding and promotion.

Hide AdOdenwald Association secretary Anne Simms said: “Some of the groups are twinned with places outwith the EU, but the conference concluded it is even more important now - in the light of Brexit - to maintain close links with our European friends”
It was also used to start the ball rolling on the Association’s bid to bring a real taste of Scotland to Germany by around this time next year - which could involve anything from dancing and music to poetry and Scottish-themed food.
Anne Simms said: “It was interesting to find out how each group operates, and very encouraging to discover how passionate everyone is about twinning, even after years of voluntary service to their organisation”.
