Boy air lifted to hospital after being knocked from scooter in Shieldhill

A seven year old boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance after being knocked down by a car.

The child was crossing the village Main Street near the Clachan pub at around 9 a.m. this morning and was riding a scooter.

He was treated at the scene before being air lifted to Yorkhill Children’s Hopsital in Glasgow with a serious, but not life threatening, ankle injury.

Police reopened the road at 10.25 a.m. and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
