Carol Service

For the past 30 years Bonnybridge has hosted an open air carol service come wind, rain or snow in the Memorial Park. This year will see a two part programme held on Friday, December 19 at 7.15 p.m. The first part will be the children’s with carols and hopefully a special guest arriving. The second part will remember the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One with candles being lit for every name on the memorial - with Provost Reid lighting the first candle on behalf of the community, then members of the community lighting a candle for every man remembered. Father Dow of St Joseph’s and the Rev. MacDonald of St Helens Parish Church will conduct the service. It is hoped people from all areas of the district will come along and join in the true meaning of Christmas.
