Police have confirmed a body has been found in the search for a man who went missing after he fell off the Clackmannanshire Bridge last month.
Dean Wood went into the River Forth after officers in an armed response vehicle saw him driving a blue Transit van with only three wheels on November 13.
After officers – who were in the area dealing with another matter – signalled for the 21-year-old from Sauchie to pull over, his vehicle crashed into the bridge’s barrier before he climbed over the safety railings.
A member of the public found a body at around noon on Friday on the bank of the river near Inch of Ferryton Farm.
His family has been notified but the body has yet to be formally identified.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the identity of the deceased, however, police liaison officers have been in contact with the family of missing man Dean Wood as part of that ongoing investigation.”
