A body has been found after a blaze at a home in Dunipace early this morning.

The alarm was raised shortly before 7am when the fire was spotted at the Stirling Street property.

Police have been at the scene all day and the area surrounding the house has been cordoned off.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Sadly a person was found within the property and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

“Stirling Street is currently closed in both directions at the junction with Milton Row and Barnego Road.’’

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”

The house is next door to the property which was badly damaged following a blaze on Wednesday evening but it is believed the incidents are not connected.

Stirling Street reopened to traffic just before 7pm but police were still in attendance.
