Biker boys rally together to raise cash for Strathcarron

The group, which meets regularly at the Oakwood Pub in Sauchie, held its annual Fall Over Rally at Falkirk Rugby Club in Camelon over three days in July to help coin in the cash for the hospice, with raffles, rocking live bands and a rock disco to keep the petrolheads and biker enthusiasts entertained.

The cash will be used to help the Randolphill, Denny-based hospice continue to provide specialist palliative care and expert end of life care to the people of Forth Valley and beyond.

The hospice, which employs around 200 people, is a charity and all its services are provided free of charge, although they cost over £6.5 million to provide each year.

Around 38 per cent of its running costs are funded by the NHS, with nearly £2 million coming from NHS Forth Valley and over £550,000 from NHS Lanarkshire each year.

It must find the rest of the cash itself, with help from generous donations from groups like the LGPAFO bikers, to enable it to meet its daily running costs of £12,900.
