Youngsters at Sheildhill Primary School told the classic Christmas story with a modern slant at their nativity play last week.
The primary one pupils performed ‘The Bethlehem Builders’ at two public performances, one for family and friends and another at Tesco on Thursday afternoon. The story unfolds around a long-suffering builder and his handyman.
All the children had speaking parts and class teachers Diane Fullerton and Jane Young said each of them were valued cast members.
Innes Campbell played the role of the builder, Max Allison was a handyman and Jack Hoggan and Evie Murkowski were the innkeepers.
There was a colourful cast of all the well known characters, including Mary and Joseph, citizens, travellers, kings, soldiers, angels and shepherds.
