BB Notes: Juniors look forward to a busy session

The Junior Section Committee has had its first meeting of the session. A full programme of events and competitions indicated a very busy year ahead.

A BB 130 Young Leaders (Challenge) Network Weekend is being held at Carronvale House, Larbert, on October 5-6. Interested? Contact Niall Rolland at Carronvale on (01324) 562008. Also, as part of the 130 celebrations, BB members are being encouraged to participate in this year’s Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on October 6, with ages 9-15 in the junior race on the 5th. Watch out for the special BB t-shirts in the mass of runners.

An enthusiastic grandparent, Irene Smith, is holding a fundraising event in the Ettrick/Dochart Centre, Hallglen, for 4th Falkirk (Old & St Modan’s Church), on September 25 at 7 p.m. Later in the session, on December 7, the 4th are holding their usual coffee/stovie day in the Old/St Modan’s Hall from 10 a.m. onwards.

Also fundraising will be 1st Grangemouth (Abbotsgrange Church) who will be backpacking at Tesco in Redding on Saturday, October 28. The 1st celebrate the 110th anniversary of their founding this year and invite all members past and present to their Dedication Service in Abbotsgrange Church on Sunday, September 22.

7th Falkirk (St James Church) are also celebrating a special anniversary; re-forming 50 years ago in 1963 under the leadership of their longest serving captain Crawford Meiklejohn MBE. They similarly invite members old and new to attend their enrolment/anniversary service on October 6.
