The Falkirk Herald featured the Forth Valley team that travelled to Bath for the Special Olympics.
Liam Nolan and Lewis Kellet from 1st Larbert (West Church) were part of the team.
Liam participated in sprint events and shot putt with Lewis swimming in breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke races. The boys both won two bronze medals. Well done!
TV coverage was scant but more in evidence were the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow. Although we don’t have any local BB pipe bands, it was good to see 1st Troon participating in the junior section and the band from 6/9th Dundee coming second in their class.
Thanks to the football fans on August 31 who donated during our charity collection at The Falkirk Stadium. The sum raised was £650.
Two companies have been reformed this session. Such extension within the battalion in recent years has been limited. Then, as they say, like buses, two come along together! 3rd Falkirk based at the People’s Church, adopted the number of the former West Church company. 5th Larbert, based at the Baptist Church, resumed operation after being linked with 2nd Larbert (Old Church).
3rd Falkirk are arranging a fundraising event with sponsorship for boys and staff ascending Ben Chonzie on September 22.
