Banknock's 550 house plan could begin soon

A major development which could bring 550 new homes to Banknock is still progressing.

The masterplan, which includes new roads, shops and open space, aims to bring investment which could enhance the community centre and see the school extended by six classrooms.

During Monday’s Planning Committee meeting, councillors heard developers I & H Brown Ltd. had done a lot of work behind the scenes and that “we could see something soon”.

The Banknock plan, first considered in 2009, is known as a Special Initiative for Residential-led Regeneration (SIRR) and is the only one still active of the four originally drawn up for the area.
