Banknock accident closed main road
A collision involving a van and a car closed the main road through Banknock for an hour and a half this afternoon.
Police say nobody was seriously hurt, but a woman passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up.
The accident happened at around 2pm at the roundabout at Hollandbush Avenue, closing the A803, but traffic returned to normal shortly before 3.30pm.
Two local drivers commented on Facebook about lucky escapes they had had on the same stretch of road, one describing the area near the roundabout as “a nightmare”.
