Champion TV baker Nadiya Hussain encouraged Royal Mail customers to post early for Christmas.

Nadiya’s ‘first class’ red postbox cake was to remind people to get their Christmas greetings send out nice and early in a bid to help hard-pressed postmen and women.

And the Great British Bake-Off star also had advice about using the postcode on cards and parcels, so that Royal Mail workers can sort the festive mailbag as quickly as possible.

Nadiya said: “We can all help at this busiest time of year for Royal Mail by posting our cards and gifts early, supporting the postmen and women who deliver to more than 29 million addresses around the country.”
