Farewell Mrs McVicar

Last Tuesday, at Langlees Primary School the pupils, staff, parents and friends attended a special assembly to mark the retirement of Mrs Margot McVicar who has been depute headteacher for 15 years. Mrs K. Horne, acting deptue headteacher welcomed the gathering. The classes from nursery to primary 7 paid tribute to Mrs McVicar by their own special way with songs and poems. All the classes gave Mrs McVicar a signed class photograph. This was followed by the singing of the pupil song. Mrs J. Patrick the former Headteacher wished Mrs McVicar all the best, saying that she has been very loyal and supportive to the pupils and staff, after which Mrs Cairns and Mrs Scott, former teachers at Langlees and now living in Australia, sent a video link message wishing Mrs McVicar a happy retirement. The parent council presented a suitable gift, followed by the teaching staff dancing. In closing, Mrs McVicar wished the school a really successful future and said that she will never forget the time she spent at Langlees.
