Baby of the Week: Rory Stuart Robert Thornton

Rory Stuart Robert Thornton was born in Forth Valley Royal Hospital on November 24, 2016 at 5am, weighing 6lbs 8oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Ashley (26) works for a travel agent in Falkirk and dad Russell (36) is a bistro owner. It’s the couple’s first child and they live in Falkirk town centre.

THE PREGNANCY: Ashley says the pregnancy was fantastic and they were no problems.

THE BIRTH: Ashley was in labour for 19 hours and eventually needed an emergency c-section. She recalled it was “horrific” but 
eventually Rory arrived four days early.

THE NAME: Rory was a name that they both really liked. His middle names Stuart and Robert are after Ashley’s dad and Russell’s late 
dad.

THE BABY: Ashley says Rory is a content baby who “sleeps all night and parties all day” and loves to smile and laugh.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Rory is the first grandchild for Lorraine and Stuart More from Grangemouth and he is the 12th grandchild of Anne Thornton and Jim Anderson who live in Ipswich.
