Baby of the week: Penny Sheena Paterson

Penny was born on May 19 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 9.26pm, weighing 6lb 5oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Pamela (30) is a sign technician in Grangemouth and dad Rory (38) is also a sign technician at a different company.

THE PREGNANCY: Pamela said she had a fairly straightforward nine months. She said: “It was really easy and went very smooth pregnancy.”

THE BIRTH: Penny was two days late in arriving however apart from the 48 hour wait, Pamela said the experience was not too bad.

THE BABY: Penny has been a dream first child for mum and dad as she really loves her sleep. Pamela said: “She has made it really easy for the two of us, sleeping the whole way through the night. Penny is a happy child who is always smiling.”

THE NAME: Penny was the first name suggested to Pamela when she found out she was pregnant. She said: “At first I said no, however we kept coming back to it. Nine months later we both agreed it suited her.” Sheena is after Pamela’s gran, Penny’s great-gran.
