Baby of the week: Grace Margaret Cowie

THE PARENTS: Mum Linzi (32) is a hairdresser and runs her own salon in Falkirk. Dad Graeme (25) is a business analyst for Aegon. It’s the couple first child and the family live in Larbert.

THE PREGNANCY: Linzi said it was very hard going as she was in and out of hospital regularly . She suffered liver problems and high blood pressure and reduced movement, but it was all worth it for Grace.

THE BIRTH: Linzi said the birth was straightforward and was induced at 36 weeks. She went into hospital on Thursday and Grace was born on Monday. Labour lasted just three hours.

THE NAME: The couple loved the name Grace. Graeme’s great granny was called Grace and she was named after Linzi’s mum and one of Graeme’s grans Margaret.

THE BABY: Linzi says she has really long eyelashes, a head full of hair and smiles at anyone who compliments her.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Grace is the first grandchild of Margaret Grant who lives in Bonnybridge and is the third grandchild of Agnes and William Cowie who live in Carron.
