THE PARENTS: Mum Stephanie (29) is a staff nurse at Kingston Hospital and dad Neil (30) is a finance controller for Sky. The couple moved to London from Falkirk three years ago.

THE PREGNANCY: Stephanie said the pregnancy was fairly straightforward and added: “Most people think being a nurse makes me more knowledgeable, however I was as clueless as every other mum during my pregnancy.”

THE BIRTH: Elsie kept her mum waiting an extra 11 days before Stephanie went into labour.

THE BABY: Stephanie has described her daughter as a great baby who loves to smile all the time. She said: “Elsie is sleeping through the night and is just so happy. I can’t complain.”

THE NAME: While at work, Stephanie met an elderly woman named Elsie and she said the name just stuck with her after that. The middle name was selected as both Stephanie and Neil have a sister called Alison.

THANKS: Stephanie would like to thank her friends and family. She said: “It was tough being down in London on our own so a big thank you to all the family who came and helped out with Elsie.”
