Baby of the week: Ella Catherine Barr

Ella Catherine Barr was born in Forth Valley Royal Hospital on November 11, 2016 at 10.24am weighing 9.b 6.5oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Kellie (29) is an executive assistant and dad Matthew (29) is a brand change project manager. Ella is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Falkirk.

THE PREGNANCY: This was an “absolute dream” according to Kellie, who said heartburn was her only problem throughout the nine months.

THE BIRTH: Due on November 5, Ella finally made her arrival by c-section six days later after mum had been having contractions for 32 hours. “She wasn’t for budging!”

THE NAME: The couple were convinced they were having a boy but had picked Ella as a back up in case it was a girl. “When she was born we just said straight away that’s what we would call her”, said Kellie. Catherine is after both their grans.

THE BABY: “She’s absolutely perfect and has a smile for everyone,” said the proud mum, who admitted Ella also likes to be kept to a routine.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Ella is the first grandchild for Carolyn and Peter Barr and the fourth granddaughter for Jamie and Margery Muir, and Kay and Peter Laidlaw.
