Baby of the Week: Ayla Elizabeth Short

THE PARENTS: Mum Andi Croy (20) works in a cafe in Reddingmuirhead and dad Kevin Short (20), from Whitecross, is a butcher at Campbells. The couple live with Andi’s mum, Averil in Redding, Falkirk.

THE PREGNANCY: Andi said the pregnancy was very straightforward and the new mother had no issues over the nine months.

THE BIRTH: Ayla arrived one day early after an all natural birth on gas and air.

THE BABY: Andi said little Ayla is an amazing child. She said: “Ayla has recently found her voice and definitely loves to be heard. She is a brilliant sleeper and is very loved by all the family.”

THE NAME: Andi said she and Kevin wanted an unusual name for their first child. Danielle, Andi’s sister was also pregnant and the pair were coming up with names together. Andi said: “Danielle said Ayla and I decided to pinch it from her.” Elizabeth is after Andi’s gran and Kevin’s gran and mum.
