Baby of the Week: Austen Henderson

THE PARENTS: Rebecca Scott (23) is a spa manager at Macdonald Houston House in Livingston and fiancé Thomas Henderson (27) is a travel specialist. The couple live together in Grangemouth and Austen is their first child.

THE PREGNANCY: Rebecca said the pregnancy was fairly straightforward and she had no problems.

THE BIRTH: Austen couldn’t wait to be born and arrived two weeks early. Apart from an emergency Caesarean section, the birth was fine.

THE BABY: Austen is doing great. Rebecca said: “He is very content and he is now sleeping almost all the way through the night. Apart form the occasional early morning wake-up call, he is perfect.”

THE NAME: The couple wanted to name their child something a bit different and give him a name not a lot of other people would have. They managed to whittle it down to two names, Austen and Lochlan, before deciding on the former. Rebecca said: “Once the name was chosen, we had to decide how to spell it and both agreed it should end ‘en’.
