Baby of the Week: Alice McKeown

Alice was born on April 28 at 7.18am in Forth Valley Royal Hospital weighing 8lb 13oz.

HE PARENTS: New mum Vivien Mather (29) is a senior project co-ordinator at a laboratory in Livingston and dad Joe McKeown (29) is a civil servant with the Scottish Government. The couple live in Falkirk.

THE PREGNANCY: Alice said overall the pregnancy was fine. Despite some back pain towards the end the new mum said her nine-month experience was fairly straightforward.

THE BIRTH: Vivien was induced into labour two days after Alice’s due date. Vivien said: “The birth was pretty routine and everyone is happy and healthy.”

THE BABY: Alice is a lovely baby according to mum who added she is not a bad sleeper. Vivien added: “She does have her moments, but most of the time she is a wee smiley, happy 
baby.”

THE NAME: The couple had both liked the name Alice before they knew they were having a girl.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Alice is the first grandaughter for Isabel and Colin Mather and the second grandchild for Jane and James McKeown.
