The birth of Lewis Andrew Muir
THE DETAILS: Lewis Andrew Muir was born on August 22 at Stirling Royal Infirmary at 4.25 a.m. weighing 9lb 2oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Nicola (28) is a community education worker with Falkirk Council while dad Chris (29) works in Asda's warehouse. The family live in Grangemouth.
THE PREGNANCY: The pregnancy went well, although Nicola had swollen hands and feet.
THE BIRTH: Nicola's waters broke on Friday morning but she didn't go to hospital until Saturday morning. With Chris and her mum by her side, it was decided that Nicola would have to have an emergency section because she wasn't dilating. Lewis arrived safe and well on Sunday morning, a week before his due date.
THE BABY: Little Lewis is a great baby who sleeps well and smiles at family and friends.
THE NAME: Andrew was the name of Nicola's uncle who died in an accident a few years ago. Lewis was a name that both mum and dad liked after going through an alphabet of names.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Lewis is a first grandson for Nicola's parents Ian and Eleanor Addison from Grangemouth.
THANKS: Thanks go to the midwives and medics at the hospital and Chris and Eleanor for being at the birth.
