Attack being treated as a '˜hate crime'

A man was attacked in Grangemouth on Monday night in what police believe was a hate crime.

The incident happened at around when a 35-year-old man was walking his dog on the riverbank near to Glensburgh Road.

He suffered a sustained attack by a 44-year-old man who repeatedly kicked him on his face and body. The victim was alos subjected to a torrent of abuse which police are investigating as a hate crime.

The attacker was traced, arrested and charged earlier today.

A member of the public who stopped to help was also on the receiving end of abuse from the attacker and as a result had to flee the area.

Police are keen trace the Good Samaritan who was driving a black car and wearing a white t-shirt.
