Asian man screams racist abuse at fellow train passengers

British Transport Police are searching for an Asian man who shouted and swore racist abuse at passengers on a train.

The man was travelling on the 22.49 service between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley on Monday when he launched his “threatening” tirade.

The incident was reported to BTP officers around 11.10pm when a text was sent to its reporting service that a man of Asian appearance was shouting racial abuse at passengers before getting off the train at Falkirk High station and jumping into a taxi.

Constable Nicky Ritchie, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, is appealing for anyone who was on the train or at the station and has information which can help identify the suspect to get in touch.

The man is described as being about 5ft 10in with black hair.
