A brave woman who already marked her half-century on the planet has now had her locks chopped for charity.
Adele McCarroll (50), of Etna Road, Falkirk, went through with her ordeal for Macmillan Brave the Shave fund raising initiative on Monday at Renella Hairdressing. She has already coined in £500 with more money to collect.
All the cash raised through sponsorship goes towards supporting people who are facing a difficult time and will help them start to feel more in control.
Adele, who had a cancer scare herself when she was in her 20s, heard about the challenge last year and decided to give it a go herself. She said: “My own hairdressers wasn’t well so they had to get someone else to do it. She will be gutted she missed it, she was looking forward to it.”
Senior stylist Laura Hynds stepped up with the clippers and gave Adele a rather severe crop.
