Catch up with Falkirk folk in far flung places.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW? Toronto, Canada.

WHY ARE YOU THERE? My husband, who has dual citizenship, and I immigrated in 1999. We got married in 1997, came to Toronto for a month-long vacation and fell in love with it.

WHAT DO YOU DO? I am a senior consultant working in Group Benefits.

FAMILY? I have great kids, Kara (10); artist and Ross (7); comedian.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE NOW? I like the big city life. We are in walking distance to the beach and Lake Ontario.

ANYTHING YOU DON’T LIKE? The winters can be hard, five months of constant snow and -30 can give you Shining moments!

BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THERE AND HERE? There are more job opportunities in Canada. Also, the hot summers make it easier to get together with friends and plan a BBQ.

WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST FROM HOME? Family and friends. There is nothing like a pop-in for a cup of tea and a blether.

ANY MESSAGE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS? Hotel McLeod is open for the season ... book ahead to avoid disappointment. Also a big hello to my little sister Lynne Gow for nominating me for this piece.
