After the tape had been cut, local pupils from St Mungo’s High School, Falkirk High School and Comely Park Primary tried out the new all-weather surface courts, under the watchful eye of Falkirk Community Trust (FCT) tennis coaches.

The fully restored courts can be played day and night, thanks to a brand new floodlighting system.

FCT, which operates the courts, has also been working with Tennis Scotland and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) in conjunction with ClubSpark, to pilot a cutting-edge remote, easy-to-use court booking system.

To book a court, simply go online to www.falkirkcommunitytrust or call the Booking Team on 01324 506850. Dollar Park has a full coaching programme and offers adult, child and family memberships.

The upgrading was supported by Avondale Environmental through the Landfill Commission Fund, Legacy 2014, LTA, Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust.

Joining Provost Reid and the school pupils was Ian Scott, of FCT and representatives of Sports Scotland.
