A9 Laurieston bypass closed after lorry overturns

Police and emergency services had to close off the Laurieston bypass today (Friday) when a lorry overturned at the Icehouse Brae roundabout.

While the lorry driver was trapped in the cab for some time, he is believed to have suffered only minor injuries.

Fire crews and an ambulance were called to the scene, along with officers from Police Scotland, who diverted traffic away from the accident.

The lorry’s load spilled onto the road, so the bypass is expected to be out of commission for a few hours.

Diversions are currently in place and will remain so until the lorry and its load can be safely removed.

Laurieston bypass from Icehouse Brae roundabout to Bog Road and to Grangemouth Road remain closed but the vehicle recovery is now in progress.
