The wedding of Michelle MacDonald and Phil Fisher
HOW THEY MET: Phil was a photographer and Michelle modelled for fun and they met on a networking website in 2009. He was visiting the UK for his brother’s wedding that summer, so they arranged a photo shoot, staying in contact through Facebook and began a long-distance relationship in October 2010.
THE PROPOSAL: Phil asked Michelle on video chat, but they kept it secret and proposed at his home in America in March 2011 by hiding the ring in her shopping bags, knowing she would show him her purchases of the day.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was at Tracy Aviary, Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 1. Most memorable moment was the ceremony when the couple stood in a circle of 60 guests. They also showed a short documentary of the long distance relationship.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Michelle chose not to have official bridesmaids but her new sister-in-laws Michelle Fisher and Sheila Hare helped with last minute hiccups and calmed Michelle’s nerves. Best man was Marc Jones, and dear friend Henry Ballesteros acted as host for the evening.
THE DRESS: Mori Lee halterneck dress, embroidered with lace and beads, purchased brand new on eBay for £160.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple are planning a late honeymoon to San Francisco.
THANKS: Thanks to Michelle’s family back home for supporting her while planning the wedding, and for waiting patiently for wedding number two in Scotland.
