The wedding of Ross Allan and Pichayaporm Tannin
HOW THEY MET: Ross and Fang met when they were on a night out in Edinburgh. Ross said he first noticed Fang when she stuck her tongue out at him on the dance floor. For their first date, they went to the circus at the Edinburgh Festival.
THE PROPOSAL: There was no actual proposal, but the couple say they knew they would marry. On a trip to Fang’s home last year, her mum visited a Buddist monk who said a Friday in September would be a good luck day for a marriage.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on Friday, September 23, at Falkirk Registry Office, followed by a meal at Lanna Thai and an evening reception at Warriors Social Club in Larbert.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Fang’s bridesmaid was her friend Ratchanee Sureerat, and Ross’s best man was his brother Bryan.
THE DRESS: Fang’s beautiful kimono was a gift from parents of Japanese exchange students who stayed with her parents.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent their wedding night at Airth Castle and are planning another trip to Thailand soon.
THANKS: Thanks to Ross’s parents Christine and Roy, his brothers Bryan, Craig and Graham, Lorraine Bennet, ARC staff and photographer Michael Middleton.
