Update on hospital clinics and operations

The majority of hospital outpatient clinics and non-urgent operations have been postponed until Friday March 2.

Due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions across the area, NHS Forth Valley hospital outpatient appointments and non-emergency operations will be postponed until Friday March 2.

The local health authority made the decision following further alerts for snow in the area.

A statement on their website reads: “Appointments will be postponed apart from oncology and renal dialysis clinics and a small number of more urgent appointments where staff will be in touch with patients direct to arrange.

“Staff will make contact with patients in due course to reschedule any cancelled appointments as soon as possible.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause however we want to ensure patients avoid the need to travel to hospital unless they absolutely have to.

“Our staff are continuing to work closely with the Scottish Ambulance Service, local authorities and voluntary organisations to maintain essential clinical services across Forth Valley.”
