After 11 happy years in this exceptional bungalow in Head of Muir, its owners are reluctant to leave it.
As if the layout, space and homely feel wasn’t enough, housebuilder and joiner Ian Cairney and his wife Liz love the Chacefield Wood area.
They tried three times to get a house on this street, but say that the time and effort was all worth it.
So it’s no surprise that, when they do make their downsizing move, they are moving into the house next door!
Liz said: “It was third time lucky for us, but this is where we wanted to be.
“Over about a year, we completely replaced all of the woodwork, the windows and doors. We also changed the kitchen and the shape of the hallway, and added the large conservatory.
“We love the house. It’s a bungalow that just flows so well. The doors are always open and it’s bright and spacious.
“The neighbours are really lovely. I think six houses have the original owners from when they were built about 25 years ago.”
The couple are proud of what they have achieved in this house and have enjoyed enhancing what was there before.
Quality features include the high-specification oak doors and wooden flooring throughout, the large and welcoming hallway, and a bedroom dressing area with a difference in the form of a small conservatory.
And it’s always sunny in the large conservatory, which has a self-cleaning blue-tinted ceiling and a view of the landscaped garden.
The property in Chacefield Wood, Head of Muir, is on the market with JSB Gillespie at offers in the region of £260,000. For more information contact (01324) 557776.
