For the Webster family, this property was where they were intending to stay for a long time – and possibly for good.
As the only owners of this 10-year-old, four-bedroom property in Callendar Park Drive, they have decorated it with an Eastern theme to remind them of exotic holidays and also started their family here.
But, due to a few changes with work and childcare, Graeme and Susy Webster are now moving on with four-year-old son Jack, but still cannot speak highly enough of a home they don’t really want to leave.
“We planned to never move from here,” said Graeme. “It has a great location, lovely large rooms, and a nice natural feel about throughout the whole house.”
Bought from plot, this Wimpey Home was a blank canvas when the Websters moved in.
“We liked that,” said Graeme.
“We made some changes to the layout, making the ground floor much more open plan, and we added touches by upgrading the light switches to chrome switches.
“The decor throughout has an Eastern theme which we decided on after trips to Thailand, Bali and Hong Kong.
“We have bamboo blinds and screening, bamboo hardwood flooring, and the garden is landscaped with a water feature and a koi pond.”
The outside space has been a big plus for the family.
As the house sits on one of the larger plots of this estate, it has a substantial back garden which gets the sun from morning to night and is totally private.
Upstairs, both the master and the second bedroom are en-suite, while the other two bedrooms are large and offer flexible accommodation.
But the heart of his house is in the breakfasting kitchen, family room and sunlit lounge.
Graeme said: “There’s so much light in the house, and the downstairs as a whole works really well.
“The kitchen and family room open out onto the sun deck so it has a great natural feel.
“It’s a great house for entertaining; you can comfortably have 30 or 40 people downstairs.”
And the Websters have never tired of their home’s wonderful location, a stone’s throw from the famous Callendar Park and Helix, and an ideal commuter spot for Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Greame added: “It’s a great house for children while also being a really social house.”
