With this in mind we thought we’d look at which of Falkirk’s attractions are ranked highest on the popular travel website Tripadvisor – the results are occasionally surprising.

5. Muiravonside Country Park
Muiravonside Country Park's highly-rated attractions include 170 acres of stunning woodland and parkland, a mini demonstration farm, a sculpture trail and a children's play area. Robert Owens wrote: "Always plenty to see and do within the park, from enjoyable walks, seeing the animals at the farm and taking the kids to the play park and the café, or even taking your own picnic." 6. Antonine Roman Wall
Around two miles southeast of Bonnybridge, visible remains of the Rough Castle Roman fort and Antonine Wall are a popular attraction for those interested in history. Albia-Newton wrote: "Rough Castle and the Antonine Wall are a must see. 7. The Pineapple
Reviewers love the quirky architecture and attractive grounds of the Pineapple, built in 1761 by the Earl of Dunmore as a summerhouse. Mikwizzy wrote: "Forget Hawaii. Forget Costa Rica. Dollar Park is praised for being a quite and tranquil haven on the edge of town by visitors. Clara C wrote: "It has a wonderful giant redwood tree and a walled garden. Take time to wander or sit in this quiet space." Photo: Google Maps
