In pictures: Airth Primary pupils enjoy Burns celebration

Pupils from P7 at Airth Primary hosted a successful Burns Supper in the school last week.

It was attended by families, friends from the Airth Community, Falkirk Council’s head of education David Mackay and new Provost Billy Buchanan.

As well as a traditional fare – with the haggis piped in by a former pupil – guests were treated to all the traditional elements of a celebration to Scotland’s bard, including the Immortal Memory and toasts to the Airth lassies and laddies.

Morag Carson, Airth Primary head, said: “It was a fantastic afternoon and we are extremely proud of the success that our pupils had. We’ve had lots of lovely compliments about the children, the food and the entertainment.

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome so many of our community into the school and to see how capable our young people are in planning and hosting such an enjoyable event.”
