It’s not often we can afford a bottle of wine for over £23 but as we are giving away 33 per cent on this one perhaps it’s worth it. Indeed Amarone
Indeed Amarone is not just any old wine. Made from a blend of Corvina and Rondinella the grapes are dried before they are fermented resulting in a much richer and more concentrated wine. Traditionally Amarone could be quite overpowering and often unpalatable but these days the wines are softer and more approachable. That said they are still fairly robust at around 15 per cent ABV. This particular wine is balanced and velvety with soft tannins; the palate is rich with sweet berries and a hint of chocolate and liquorice. Serve with hearty meat dishes.
