Providing facilities and activities to keep their community entertained, healthy and active is aim of a determined group in the Braes village of Slamannan.
Members of Slamannan Community Education Association are responsible for all the pursuits that are run in the community centre, which is now a hive of activity thanks to the dedication of the volunteers who give up their own for the benefit of the community.
Groups that run in the centre are for local residents of all ages and include cooking classes which focus on cooking on a budget, a fruit barra that promotes healthy living, dancing for exercise, bingo, watercolour painting, youth clubs, over-60s activities and karate.
Secretary of the group Debbie McLuckie said: “There’s plenty going on and it certainly keeps us all busy.”
The group is hoping to run a play scheme over the summer holidays and is looking for volunteers to help out.
If you are interested in getting involved the group would be pleased to hear from you.
