Colin Rae (80) from Slamannan called in after seeing this photograph in last week’s Falkirk Herald.

The picture is of members of the Rae, McArthur, Harding and Drysdale families taken around 1920 and Colin remembers most of the names.

Back row (from l-r) is Colin’s father James and mother Esther, unknown, unknown and Nicholas Harding (nee Drysdale).

Along the front is Rae Williamson, Nellie Drysdale, Margaret Rae (nee Nimmo, Colin’s grandmother), William Drysdale and Nicholas Drysdale senior with the baby.

Colin said: “The man holding the baby in the back row could be Nicholas Harding’s husband, who was a bus driver in Camelon.

“The picture was taken in the shop the family had in the village’s Bank Street. It was a sweet shop but sold other groceries too. It was just like a front room with cupboards in it.”
