Audrey is put in the picture

Audrey Johnston contacted The Falkirk Herald after spotting herself in the Timeline page.

Mrs Johnston, who now lives in Linlithgow, admits she only picked up the paper because of the front page headline that week.

Audrey, nee Williamson, said: “You can imagine my surprise when I saw my school photograph, Larbert Central School in 1946. “I could not believe the coincidence, I am ‘unknown’ in the second row. Soon after this picture was taken my family moved to Leeds in Yorkshire, hence the title ‘unknown’. I am very grateful to Isabel Sneddon, nee Deans, for sending in this photograph, it brought back memories.”

Pictured is from left, back row, Archie Watt, Daniel Lawrie, Billy Robertson, Roddy Traill, Tom Miller, David Sinclair, Crawford McDonald. Fourth row, Miss Letham, John Cowan, David Eadie, Reggie Baird, Billy Henderson, unknown, Peter Hastie, Alec Ballantyne. Middle row, Ruth Williamson, Mary McLean, Lilliam McLay, Jean Fish, Isobel MacKenzie, Janet McGaw, Ellen Fyffe, Janet Ferguson. Second row, Sheena Blackley, Catherine Cowan, Betty Mitchell, Marlene Moffat, Audrey Williamson, Anita Morton, Isabel Deans, Neeta ?, Jessie Stewart. Front row, unknown, David Ure, Lorraine Morrison, Myra Banks.

“I remember some of the faces - although I’m sure they are changed by now - so thank you very much for making an old woman of 73 happy. Although I now live over the boundary in West Lothian, I am

certainly going to buy The Falkirk Herald in the future.”
