As we come to terms with the disappointment of Saturday’s Scottish Cup final defeat, we can look back at happier times in the competition.

While 2015 wasn’t Falkirk’s year for the famous trophy, 1957 was and the town’s residents turned out in their droves again to cheer the team on when they lifted it after beating Kilmarnock 2-1 at Hampden after a replay when the teams drew 1-1 in the first match.

George Merchant opened the scoring for Falkirk before Kilmarnock equalised sending the nail-biting match into extra time when Doug Moran scored in 101 minutes to seal the win.

Alex Watters sent in the crowd shot above of Falkirk fans celebrating that victory. If you are in the picture or know anyone who is, please let us know on (01324) 690249.
