From the inset wood burning stove with limestone surround to the Italian travertine stone tiles laid throughout the ground floor, this is a house that is beautifully finished with great attention to detail.
Bought in December 2010, after looking at the impressive plan, the current owners were drawn to the large open plan area which characterises stylish, modern living. It encompasses the kitchen, dining and living area – perfect for entertaining and spending time together as a family.
The modern house in Larbert’s Kinnaird Village also boasts four large bedrooms – two of which have double en suite showers – that would be ideal for a growing family.
That cosy wood burning stove, installed by the owners, sits in a bespoke granite hearth in the living room, all set off beautifully with hand scraped solid oak flooring.
“We enjoy nothing better on a cold winter’s day to light the fire and open the door up to heat the rest of the house,” they said.
“We have also laid authentic Italian travertine stone tiles throughout the remainder of the ground floor, which we feel creates an extremely spacious and open feel to the downstairs.
“It is also very practical for keeping dogs and dealing with the Scottish weather!”
Another practical plus point is the integral garage.
The owners made other changes too; the kitchen worktops have been replaced with midnight granite.
The en-suites and bathroom are now tiled floor to ceiling, while the WC is tiled to dado height.
The couple also like the fact that there is plenty of storage space, with both the ensuite bedrooms having large wardrobes.
The attention to detail continues out of doors – the couple have planted miniature evergreens along the back garden, which are nearing maturity and provide privacy.
They have also extended the rear patio so it can easily accommodate a table, chairs and the all important barbecue for the summertime, making the most of its westerly position.
The rear garden is secure with a 1.8 metre slatted fence on three sides and a lovely stone feature wall to the other.
At the end of a quiet, private cul-de-sac there’s no doubt this home is perfect for a family. In fact, the current owners are downsizing as they do not have children, so feel the house is too large for them.
It is also ideal for commuters, with excellent road links from Larbert as well as a nearby railway station. The house is also well placed for Kinneil Primary School.
