The beautiful interior of this Linlithgow property at 5 St Magdalenes is complimented by a south facing balcony overlooking the leafy green courtyard garden.

The distillery at St Magdalene was established circa 1798, and after a long period of family ownership it was bought by the Distillers Company in 1912. The distillery closed in 1983 and some of the buildings were converted into terraced houses and apartments. They retained their distinctive ‘Pagoda’ roofs and are protected as C listed buildings.

Speaking about this distinctive property, which went on the market this week at offers over £235,000 and is already under offer, a spokesperson for Paul Rolfe Estate Agents said: “This particular property is a nice example of a three bedroom mid terrace house. Open the front door and step into the handy entrance porch complimented by a well-equipped utility room – perfect for jackets and shoes.

"All dressed in neutral tones, the principal two bedrooms offer fitted wardrobe space whilst the third bedroom makes for a perfect day-to-day study. Offering further charm are the picture windows recessed into the solid stone walls. Moving back into the hallway, freshen up in the fully tiled bathroom offering a larger P-shaped bath – perfect for a soak – but also benefiting from a thermostatic shower for when time is tight.

"Now to gain some elevation as we proceed to the first floor and the main living space. Stealing the scene is the wonderful open plan living area, perfect for entertaining friends and family, which consists of a living room as well as a contemporary kitchen diner.

"To the front elevation, a luxurious-feeling kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob - all inset into deep white toned units with the metal T-bar handles and topped with wood effect worksurfaces.

"The carpeted living room benefits from a bright and airy, yet cosy feel, with the all-important balcony offering lovely outdoor living space – ideal for a morning coffee or perhaps an evening tipple.”
