A dream home for a growing family

For many years, Brian and Susan Thompson would often stop to look at this stunning property in Falkirk's High Station Road.

They were struck by this property’s imposing facade and wondered if, someday, they would ever live there.

When they eventually outgrew their home, the couple and their children moved to a large semi on Majors Loan, but the boxes were hardly unpacked before they were on the move again.

Mr Thompson said: “We had only been in the Majors Loan house for six months, when the High Station Road house came up. We thought to ourselves that we had to go for it.

“So we moved twice in the same year because we thought it would be worth it, and it certainly proved to be worth it. We have now spent 20 very happy years here.”

With three public rooms and a possible five bedrooms, the family loved the size, character and flexibility of this house.

Mr Thompson added: “Each of the children had their own space and you could always find some peace and quiet.

“I have also regularly worked from the home office over the last 20 years, and the garden has been ideal for three growing children.

‘‘The location is also wonderful; it’s set far enough back from the main road so it’s quiet and it’s elevated which gives you fabulous views over the valley on a clear day.

“The house is also full of character with the stain glass windows and plasterwork and that character has been retained and maintained since the 1900s.

“My favourite room is the living room at the front because it has more of these features than any other room and it’s a fantastic size.”

The property at 13 High Station Road, Falkirk, is on the market with Your Move and offers over £420,000
