Au revoir as home owner says 'Allo, 'Allo to France

When estate agents say a property is rare to the market, it could be for many reasons.

But when it comes to properties in Falkirk’s Cadell Drive, it’s usually because the owners are so settled there they very rarely move on.

This appears to be the case with Ian and Jean Winning who have lived at no. 16 for the past 22 years.

Jean said: “It’s a lovely, spacious, bright home.

“We really love the area. There are only five streets in the Greenmount Park Estate and it’s very quiet and friendly.

“No-one really moves from here and we have been the same.

“We have never even considered moving anywhere else but we are moving to France to retire – that’s the only reason.”

Over the years, the Winnings have kept their home looking fresh and enhanced its many attractive features.

Although the generously-sized conservatory was already there, the couple added an extension to house a pleasant dining room with bay windows.

“We wanted a dining room which overlooked the garden which is very nice, gets the sun all day and is not over looked,” said Jean.

“The downstairs space is very spacious, so it’s a great house for entertaining.”

There are three double bedrooms and a single bedroom upstairs, as well as a bedroom downstairs which could easily be used as a study or playroom.

It also boasts a stylish family bathroom and a separate shower room.

The gardens are also a feature, with the private, secluded rear garden containing lawn, trees, shrubs and paved patio areas.

Jean added: “We will be sad to leave.”
