Falkirk distillery launches vintage single malt with a four-figure price tag

A Falkirk distillery is set to release a vintage single malt with a four-figure price tag on each bottle.

Rosebank Distillery’s 30-year old 1990, vintage single malt, 'Release One' is the first in a series of annual, limited edition bottlings by the brand.

Only 4350 bottles will be available to buy worldwide, each with a price tag of £1600.

Leading whisky reviewers have already sampled a first nip, and now the distillery is giving just 200 people the opportunity to enjoy a dram of 'Release Two' at their nearest high-end, luxury bar or whisky retailer in 2021.

In 2019, the distillery’s re-development began under new owners, Ian Macleod Distillers.

Situated on the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal in Camelon Road, Rosebank had been dormant for a quarter of a century, having ceased production in 1993 when former owner UDV – now known as Diageo – mothballed the site and its maltings were converted into a restaurant.
