THE COUPLE: Siobhan (28) is a self employed hairdresser from Falkirk and Steven (30) works in the prison college at Polmont YOI and is from Hallglen. They live in Brightons with son Kaydn (7).
HOW THEY MET: They met when Siobhan worked in The Goose public house and Steven was a customer nine years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: Steven popped the question over a dinner in the Taj Mahal in Falkirk in 2006.
THE WEDDING: The couple hosted a masquerade ball wedding in The Three Kings on July 6, 2014. They wore masks throughout the day and their guests wore ball gowns, suits and masks. Siobhan said: “I have always wanted to go to a masquerade ball and love doing things differently so decided it was the perfect wedding theme. All our guests made a lot of effort with their costumes and got behind the theme. People are still talking about it, and say it’s the most memorable wedding they’ve been to.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Kaydn and bridesmaids were Siobhan’s best friend Kelly McCann and sister Emma Carlin. Ushers were cousins Mark and Gary Carlin and flowergirls were Siobhan’s nieces Hannah and Emily Kane and her cousin’s daughter Elisha Carlin.
THE DRESS: Siobhan wore an ivory dress with red embroidery and an ivory mask while Steven wore a gunmetal silver mask.
THANKS: The couple wish to thank Siobhan’s mum Linda Carlin for travelling from Australia and dad John Carlin for all his help. A big thanks to bridesmaid Kelly for all her help with planning the wedding.
