The wedding of Ross Morton and Wendy Harbinson
THE COUPLE: Ross (27) is from Falkirk and works as a quantity surveyor. Wendy (26) is from Slamannan and works as a project manager. The couple now live in Larbert.
HOW THEY MET: Ross met Wendy on a night out in The Carron Works pub in Falkirk on Hogmanay 2004.
THE PROPOSAL: Ross got down on one knee when the couple were visiting Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia on Hogmanay 2011. Wendy was working down under for six months when Ross visited and popped the question. A surprised but delighted Wendy was very pleased to accept.
THE WEDDING: The big day was Saturday, June 14. The service, in front of 85 guests, was held in the historic Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan. The reception took place at Dunblane Hydro with a further 45 guests joining the party. The couple were lucky to have warm sunny weather and the day went off “without a single hiccup”.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Wendy’s three sisters Ruth, Gemma and Helen acted as bridesmaids. Ross’ two best men were his good friends Neil Leishman and Stuart Arbuckle.
THE DRESS: Wendy wore a dress from Emma Roy of Edinburgh.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a wonderful four nights in Hong Kong followed by a further four nights in Vietnam. They then enjoyed a relaxing 10 days in the Maldives.
THANKS: Thanks to both sets of parents, flowergirl Leah and all guests who came along on the day. Special thanks to Wendy’s brother-in-law Ross for playing guitar on the day.
